Following the rehabilitation of Mushishito Marshland, members of the CODUMU Cooperative are optimistic about achieving a good harvest after cultivating 47 hectares of improved bean varieties during Season B 2026.
To strengthen resilience to climate change, farmers adopted Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices, including organic compost application, conservation agriculture, mulching, and integrated pest management.

The marshland rehabilitation was carried out through a project implemented by UNHCR Rwanda in partnership with Duhamic and The Ministry in Charge of Emergency Management - Rwanda , with the support from the Government of Denmark.
