DUHAMIC -ADRI and IOM Rwanda launched the Project to be implemented in Gakenke District.

In Gakenke District , on 14 May 2026, DUHAMIC -ADRI and IOM Rwanda launched the Project Enhancing Adaptation and Mitigation Capacities to Climate Change and Extreme Weather Events in Rwanda ; with the objectives of reducing biomass dependency through clean cooking.

This project will be implemented by DUHAMIC-ADRI in partnership with Gakenke Rwanda Environment Management Authority REMA and IOM Rwanda with funds from the Government of Japan.

The delegation was led by the Executive Secretary Benjamin Muhigirwa and UJIKAWA Takashi the Programs Manager from IOM Rwanda and was hosted by Gakenke District Mayor Vestine MUKANDAYISENGA.
