
Enhancing Adaptation and itigation Capacities to Climate Change and Extreme Weather Events in Rwanda.
The project “Enhancing Adaptation and Mitigation Capacities to Climate Change and Extreme Weather Events in Rwanda” will be implemented in climate-vulnerable sectors of Musanze District (Cyuve, Muhoza, Musanze) and Gakenke District (Janja, Nemba), targeting boarding schools (Ecole des Science de Musanze, MIPC, APICUR) and day scholar schools GS Muhoza 1, GS Muhoza 2, GS Musanze and GS Cyuve in Musanze District. In Gakenke District, DUHAMIC-ADRI will reach GS St. Jerome Janja, Janja TVET, ES de Nyarutovu and Nemba TSS as boarding schools and GS Nemba 1, GS Notre Dame Grace and GS Mushubi as day scholar schools.
Using a combination of school-based engagement, community multiplier approaches, and mass media outreach, the project aims to reach at least 30,000 people, promoting environmental conservation, Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), and clean cooking practices to strengthen resilience to climate change and extreme weather events. DUHAMIC-ADRI will ensure inclusive participation of youth, elderly persons, and climate-vulnerable populations.
